Merry Meet From The Central Goldfields Of Vic

Post by KombiKarmaDel »

Hey All! My Name Is Del, my first car at the ripe old age of 18yrs was a 1961 Barn Door Splitty, which I was lucky enough to find at a garage sale for only $300.00. A Slab of beer to a mechanic friend of mine & I was on the road with my 6mth old son. This road trip didn't stop for a further 2 years, until along the way I stumbled across my husband & then proceeded to start a family.. Perhaps unwisely (hindsight is a beautiful thing) we sold the Splitty to accomadate our growing family with more of a people mover...
18yrs down the track, I now own a 1972 Kombi Lowlight Sunliner Camper Van called George. Evan tho The love I feel for George is deep, there is just no substitute for a Splitty. So as of last Friday, I have purchased a 1963 Microbus Splitty :) I Am hoping that this will be a project car that I am able to tackle as much as possible on my own, being a novice to this type of resto, I am both excited & in awe... Splitty to be towed in from SA, so will update when the big day arrives when he/she (havent got a feel yet) comes home! Woot Woot :)

Geeez! I was thinking more like Paranoid Android - Radiohead, with artistic license to change the lyric to obviously make up for the lack of anatomy that my gender doesn't have...Or you guys can go back to your hypothesis .....
