Syncro split?

Post by gusbus »

I am enjoying dsk and am considering a split project.

However what I am proposing may not go down well with the purists and slammers found in this group

It would still look like a split. cool!
Would have to be a MASSIVE amount of work though.

I wouldn't think you would get any criticism of your efforts here. More like you will get compliments on the amount of effort you put in to swing it.
Here are a couple of prototypes for your perusal. The yellow on has nissan patrol running gear from memory. The blue one is anyone's guess.

4wd split

thought of doing it, but trying to find a syncro bus that has good mechanicals and is cheap enough to cut up is hard.

making a non T3 Syncro into a Syncro would be hard enough...can't see it being possible. I do however a Keith Sume article years ago in which the factory did make a split awd prototype. Guess this would be a historical question for the archiver Muller. But I can't see it being possible.

Thanks for the photos.
I had thought of something a little less monster truck looking.
It will be difficult and expensive by the sounds of it.
Time to rethink the project.
