new '58 bus, new member sunny coast
Hi, I have just become the proud owner of a '58 11 window bus, its a project bus in need of some love and bit of new metal. It will be a rotisserie build and the metal work will be tig welded. I have built a few really neat cars from scratch, but I am a genuine numpty as far as vw's go. I am a huge fan of the old splittys, and will be really keen to learn from the wealth of knowledge that is this forum. cheers~matt

Here is some pics of the beast, will be little while before i can start on it, still putting the finishing touches on my previous car build.
My brother Jonny borrowed me a trailer and helped me drag it home with his patrol about 2 and a half hours to my place.
The attention the rusty old thing got at servos and such on the way home was quite excessive, almost weird.

Welcome to Dsk.
Good to have another early bus up here on the coast.
Bus looks really dry and pretty solid, theres a few of us up here in Caloundra and the surrounds, be good to hook up.
Best

Cheers, the bus is pretty solid ontop, the chassis is probably below par though i think. It will be 6 months or so before i get seriously started on the resto, i will start a build thread once i get into it. I am still browsing for parts right now to make it easier in the long run, also trying to learn a bit too at this stage.
