thought some of you might like to see these pics, got this old Mr Whippy bus last yr from Wyndham, (woop..woop) top of WA..some mates of mine in Kununarra drove out and grabbed it for me and took heaps of pics along the way, put it on a truck down to me, bit of fuel and battery and away she went, strong old girl too..still rego`d in WA. saves some grief..needs a bit of work but will come up a treat as a coffee van..pop some other pics after it for those that are also into old commercials
..check this cool little japanese coffee bus..dont think our health and safety would allow these conditions, in fact most of my reference is from japanese sites..enjoy k

and if you dont mind some non-vw based clssics to go with the theme..??
the little MASSA`S rocket is a total classic, could`nt see the tweed hats running that as a rat, but it just ouzes patina, it conjures up so many emotions with the old signage and style..fantastic

actually someone else in NSW stole it, I would have bid well beyond $1200 bux had i been watching it, as it happens, I bought it of the kid who was quite surprised it fell into his lap @ that price, luckily i got it before it had left the state, and managed to keep it rego`d here.....some shuffling of papers..but all good in end..
...he made the bux, poor lady in pics who sold it, wanted $7.5 to start, would rather have given her the extra bux but ebay policy meant she had to go through with the deal with other dude...(even though he was weeks overdue with payment) .if paper work went into his name (with nsw licence) he would need to hand in WA rego. cant beleive no-one else bid beyond $1200 when it was up for action....long way for East though...
the old girl has worked all across the top end for many years, and shows a history of touch ups and semi restos to keep her working....thought it was a panel but actually was originaly a kombi, some quite good work to convert.
Would be very interested to hear if anyone has info of these, whether it was a one off or professional job, some people say they recall old Mr Whippy split busses in South West WA..saw one in car yard North Perth bout 5 years ago, fully kitted out...not sure if it the same one..but that was going for about $3.5 then, should have grabbed it..cheers k

If you can't organise a double beer for me I will have a double choc top with sprinkles please.
I'll pick it up at the Day Of this year.

gotta love high tops. remember seeing an original one a few years ago when going through vic on a surf trip. heres my fibreglass hightop that got dropped off last week.
anyone know any history of this type of tops? were businesees making them back in the day, or is it a b it of a home job? mine looks really well built and fits great.
