Option A - call all the shops and get quotes.
Option B - Call the usual suspects - Kombi Rescue - CBB - Indian - Volksfolks all well able to supply the required components.

I think IRS goes from under a grand to about 3, depending on self install or drive in drive out.

You can then install yourself or get someone local to assist - I've had good help from DSKers locally - or just supply the parts to a local VW specialist and get them to provide the labour.

You need to consider what kind of ride you want in that drop, adjustable or permanent. IRS and adjustable front end being my personal choice, but their are various methods of dumping it I guess.

Also consider the height of the tire you want to use, the rim size - as you need to think about clearance. In my case I needed quite big rubber on the 15" BRMs, so despite having IRS and adjustable front end to achive the grand slam, the wheel arches inhibit too much of a drop ... that's because I need 60 profiles. Not sure of the RTA rules, but the wheels and rubber need to meet the load rating of the bus.

Another thing to think about is if you put adjusters in your front end you will benefit from torsion bar stiffeners. I've got them in my bus and you are welcome to have a drive anytime to do a bit of research. As long as you don't object to going downmarket to a bay window.

Yeah whatever, ya bogan! Bays rock too man!

There are heaps of discussions on this topic in places such as AVD (www.aussieveedubbers.com), the Samba, and the SSVC (UK based right? like: http://www.chocksaway.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=13087). Good luck.

:D Cheers, A.

lobus, if i was a walrus with epilepsy i would think nothing of that comment, but since i am not it lingers in my mind. I have a 74 panel that i love and make love to, along with the 66 ute. Sure i have had way to many beers to be communicating with any human life form, but we are all from the same whomb are we not? your panel gives me a woodie from time to time, so i extend my warm and moist welcome to your and yours. Thankyou, timmy

It is pretty good. Reco motor runs great. I just had it in bits to fix a gudgeon bizzo and my mechanic reckons it has not long been recoed. It is complete all the seats, deluxe trim, original paint on most of the body. A little rust in the doors, in front of the rear wheels and around the windscreen. I will take some pics tomorrow and post em up somewhere.
These were taken the day I got it home

One I am looking at is in mint condition. I'm not just saying that !
Old guy bought it new in 72 has been garaged its whole life. :P
Motor runs like clockwork and has never been rebuilt. 120;000 mls on the speedo.
Paint is insane. Staightest bus ive seen. Problem is he is not really sure he wants to sell yet. Just hope he does before he gets memory loss.
Might have to pay him another freindly visit soon. Its not every day you come across a one owner Kombi in that sort of condition.
