Finding out the year and other details of Kombi's

Hi all, new to the site and would like to find out some more on how to date a kombi. I have read up on M Codes and a plate that is meant to be behind the drives seat but I can not find anything there. Only plate I can find is one on the righthand side of the engine area.

Any links or references would be great. Thanks

Hi Dean, Welcome to DSK.

The M plate was only on German built buses. Aussie buses didn't have them.
