Another newbie who recently acquired a 65 microbus.

Hi Guys,

I recently acquired a 65 micobus to restore. She's just a shell, with no motor or gearbox. Lots of roof damage but very little rust.

My link with Kombis is my old man had four Kombis in succession when I was a kid. Used to go camping and fishing. So to me this is nostalgia.

I have no mechanical expertise so I' m looking to outsource the restoration. I'm looking for any info on meets, swap events but importantly, any recommendations on who could do panel work in Sydney, perhaps source a donor roof and suggestions on running gear. I hear installing rack and pinion steering, IRS gearbox and a 1770 motor will give me more driving pleasure but I'm torn as also thinking it should be as original as possible.

Any suggestions welcome.

Love to post a photo but don't know how to do it.

Love the forum.

Thanks

Thanks Jamie,

I'm on the Northern Beaches as well.

Still trying to work out how to post photos. I'm not very computer savvy.

I am no Bill Gates either, but I think the easiest way is to reduce your pics in size when posting or start photobucket and just post the link....
