Here are some pics of my finally completed a-frame hooked up to my splitty. It has surge braking. When you brake in the Towed vehicle (the red Clipper in my case) the a-frame slides into the square h/reece towbar and pulls a lever with a cable conected to it which is conected to the brake pedal in the splitty, a red light on the dash in the Clipper tells me when the pedal is being pulled down. (I conected a wire to the brake switch in the splitty) Also it has a breakaway cable, if everything fails ie; a-frame breaks , the safety cables break. Another cable pulls down the bake pedal through a one way slide, a sheer link is broken and the unguided missle is meant to stop. I know splittys are meant to be driven but on a long trip i can't drive both vehicles a once ! The bra was made by a friend of mine in Byron, he also made the sunroof . Cheers Matt
Here is a link that might show it better.
