'56 SCab

Post by SplitPersonality »

G'day here is progress on the SCab thus far..
Replaced;
Inner and outer sills, Front outriggers and parts of tophats front and RH rear, Treasure chest floor patches, Tank supports.

Repaired; Damage on long side and damage on roof.
As is always the case, the more that is removed, the more crusty suprises are found..although too bad.

Here is a few pics....

Love the work.
Nice looking rat. It's going to look good when it's down on it's wheels.

Hey thanks fullas
Matty, all panels are made with zinc coated sheet, great for repelling the rust that bit better..
And yes I plan to retain the weathered, super ratty look for now, maybe just blending new rust repairs into the dove blue.(Or whats left of it! :twisted: 0

Tinman, Plans for now are Sbug engine and gearbox, IRS, Very Narrow beam, Safaris, Whitewalls and almost scratching his belly on the road! 8)

No Show, I'm thinking a nice shade of Ankor wax, or even Lanolin?
Both great colours but can't quite make up my mind! :wink:

I tried to have a look under the type 2 and type 1 colours on the Samba but couldn't find Ankor wax or Lanolin. Are they VW colours?

I'd love to see an example of each if you have something.
