Gaz has been sorting out the wiring to suit a VW motor again and done a top notch job.

We fired her up yesterday arvo, nice feeling! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVZ6vjLYR7M

Still have to sort out the throttle cable is it has a progressive Weber and the linkage works in the opposite way to stock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJgv87LshHQ

Got the clutch adjusted a bit, valance on, bumper on indicators working, earthed the fuel sender (better late than never  ), fan belt adjusted, heater hoses on, nearly ready for a drive!

Its now a driver! I took a quick vid on my phone but its hard to hold it whilst steering and changing gear so essentially its crap!

The bench seat finally made it here and has been cleaned up with some scrubbing and Wurth interior cleaner. Need to install some Buttys Bits top seat mounts on the weekend and get the bucket seats out!

New VDO gauges have also taken the place of the old water temp gauge etc…will take a pic on the weekend

It helps not being married (any more)!

I had my first real drive of the splitty from Gazzas place back to home which is about 40k's or so. Its running a little on the warm side at cruising speed and I think a remote oil cooler will be the next addition.

I got stuck in over the weekend and took care of a few jobs, the first being some fire protection with a Blazecut system in the engine bay and moving the existing extinguisher.

Then the bucket seats came out and with some Butty Bits upper seat mounts the bench seat went back in.

Lastly a test fit of the new curtains I got from the Samba on the cheap  ]

Also started work on the interior birch ply panels with a bit of test fitting, shaping and treating with some satin sealer.

Got some more done on the interior over the weekend. Soundproofing in - 2 boxes of Ping Jing was enough for me to do the bit I wanted without going crazy.

The birch ply goes well with the green I reckon!
