Hey! You've got one of those Desert Waterbags...I found one in my grandparents' old place and they let me take it home.

Do you have pix of the holder you made for it? I'd love to see how you did that.

Hey Decked just bought a ute from Adelaide that looks just like your ride Im keen to hear some feedback from other SC owners like yourself into what running gear used as im wanting it in the weeds.Do you deal with Kimm from Indian as ive spoken to him as the old bar run and seems to have all the gear.

Cheers Shauno.

Hey Shauno,

Im running a KCW 4 1/2"beam with KCW flipped spindles. Out back is a INDIAN bolt on IRS conversion and adjustable springplates.

cheers.

I've got the same set up at the back as Damien except for a weld in IRS kit. Don't really think there's any other option than either bolt in or weld in IRS to be honest. In the States, they seem intent on running with straight axle, but the IRS really drives and handles nicely and you can use a Super Beetle gearbox which has nice ratios for cruising at freeway speeds.

You'll definitely need to narrow the front end 4.5in. Damien's front set up is perfect for slamming your bus low. I've got a later model ball joint beam that is set about 15mm higher than where Damien's truck is and it's a litlle spongier than the split beam, therefore the tyres rub on the inner guards and cab floor a lot with two people in the cab.

Other thing to consider is that if you want to run that low with ball joints, you're going to need drop spindles, which widen your track back out a bit as well. Front end choice will come down to how low you really intend to run and whether you want to stay wide five or have the later model stud pattern. The late model front end with ball joints and drop spindles rides nicely but at the height we're set at, ride quality is the least of your concerns.
