FC, are they federals? I am running 165/45 15's up front and, while it pretty much looks like you're rolling on your rim, they give me around 2.5" clearance to the inside of the top of the guard at lowest setting on adjustable BJ beam, without drop spindles. It gives you that 2-2.5" to play with between the tyre and guard for ride then if you want to adjust your beam up a bit then fit dropped spindles..

Just what I have found anyway.

toyo's, got them for $125 ea instead of $165 ea . Thinking of 60 series for the back maybe 65.

With 165's there is still plenty of tread on the road, if your tread was narrower than your rim on a 4.5- 5" rim, then I think it would be questionable.

What size is going on the back?

195/60/15 been a good size on the front of type 3 wagon and easy to get, it will only have 1600tp to start with and 4 wheel drums , low light on the front and type 3 out back. And when ball joint drop spindles turn up it will go bay disc up front and redrilled disc brake kit to bay pattern out back , and hopefully t4 upright conversion 2ltr.
Thems the plans just want to get it ready for Blast from the past in 1st weekend in may, if not Nationals.
