some more progress over weekend..had young Tom with screw driver in hand instead of on the computer...front doors clean of rust..as well as the cargos...doglegs good as well as rear arches...roof very lumpy

my 58 will be left as a rat for the time being...seat belts in (kustom kombi) and all rust under will be fixed..from what i've learnt a Rat is generally a little ratty on the outside but everything mechanically is new, looks like an old bus, but drives like a new one. dont want need a polished turd with a schmick paints job, and everything else neglected...dont need one of those....esp with the kids in the back

also have a 72 getting full resto..back to bare metal and all rust repaired..had full sandblast....just about in primer...this is my second full resto....it will be a 9 seater...will have nice paint and bling...so the split can stay rattie for awhile....2 full restos in 3 years is enough... :lol:

just about finished getting paint off...all window seals are still water tight....had the girnie on them..they even had paint on them :lol:

storage area under rear facing seat and forward facing seat...very well made...large steel plates bolted to frame...

got to work on some interior ideas....am leaving as is...except will touch up the paint that has been thrown around the inside..will need 2nd coat

sanded the bog that was all over the pass arse end not sure why there was so much?..there is a dent ...but bog overkill....revealed it had added rear light at some stage
