I bit the bullet today and put the panel in for the RWC. I was on tender hooks all day but then at about 1 pm came the call ..........passed with flying colours woohoo. Then the fun started with the running around organising CTP and then the endless queue at the transport dept. all good finally around 4pm, then an hour cruise around Toowoomba. A great feeling for sure. Hey warb you better check the split out at Valla before you commit to buying it back off me :P

True, but the problem is having too many sons with an ever increasing interest with splits. :) Well that's what I tell the missus

Hi Dave
That thing is looking good. Now you can shun all the other splits with windows (common) and experience the joys of driving a 50 year old panel with limited visibility in todays traffic. Raises my heart rate every time.
Welcome to the scabby panel appreciation club!

Limited visibility alright.....holy shit very scary changing into the left lane. The partition is great to cut down the motor/gearbox/RGB noise but it even makes the visibility worse. I'll try a blind spot mirror on the passenger side mirror, don't know if will help though. Hows the Dormie Split going you bought off me flipflop?

Took it to the Toowoomba swap meet today, got myself some nice ratty goodies.

Cheers guys for all the kind words, and all of you that are posting your restos, sure keeps the motivation up to finish a project.

Dave.

I use a blind spot mirror on mine, they work really well. Also I use the indicate for a bit then slowly start moving over and listen for any beeps method, works well also

Looks great by the way, really like it.
