Side pop outs now painted and ready to go back on.

Image

The Creative door frames are an awesome bit of kit.

Image

SS Font and read bumpers from Group Harrington are good but they don't come with the bolt holes pre stamped. This means you need to drill holes in exactly the right position and then file the hole square, what a pain in the arse!

Image

ImageWe will bend up some brackets to support the corners of the rear bumper rather than use the splash pans.

Image

Engine is coming along nicely, pulley still to go on. We will run black SS braided hose, black fittings and hide as much of the wiring as possible. The Gene Berg linkage is off being painted and polished which will give it a new lease on life.

Image

Image

Front seat frame has now been disassembled, rubbed down and undercoated. She will be painted in the same white as the interior before being sent to Platinum Trimming for some love.

Brackets made up to support the rear bumper as we removed the splash pans. Tried to ensure they looked like they were period made.

Image

Mock up of the brake booster, activation rod and hydraulic clutch master.

Image

Brake booster activation bar bent out of solid rod, doubt there will be any flex if we need to stamp on the brakes!

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Tank now in place and connected.

Image

Image

A bit of protection for the clutch master cylinder!

Image

Image

Nice to see a bit of interior action, CSP shifter in place.

Image

Image

Box and axels now fitted, all sprayed in gun metal to match the rest of the running gear.

Image

Image

Front seat dropped off for trimming. Engine and wiring loom to be installed this week.

Looking great mate

Make sure you check that the axles are not too long with the Creative IRS

Will damage the gearbox seals if they are

Cheers,

Pete

Thanks Pete

You had me guessing for a minute. I went and double checked and we purchased the 68 shafts from The Bus Stop so they should be spot on.

Cheers

She has now been engineered and safety certificate issued. That was easier than I expected, the mobile safety certificate guy noted the engine and chassis number, wrote out the paper work and was gone inside 15mins  Rego will occur on Monday and then a few runs to iron out any issues.

Wiring now all but completed, what an epic

Image

RetroSound Hermosa stereo fitted with dual cone speaker behind the grills in the dash. Bluetooth will ensure we keep the clean 'no wires' look we were after

Image

Trimmed the front seat in TMI vinyl with back pleated seams (complete interior to be done in FEB which is the earliest we could book her in for)

Image

The window rubbers were so tight they were flexing the mounts and cracking the paint. Even though this will be covered I wasn't happy to leave it so the doors were cut , reinforced and welded back together. they were then rubbed down and resprayed

Image

Nice bit of bling to keep me happy after shelling out on the doors and the engine refresh!

Image

New wiper mechanisms needed so they folded away out of the way of the windows

Image

Trying to hide all of the wiring etc. This is the new route for the battery connections, through the floor and chassis rails

Image

Image

Front bar fitted

Image

Nice and Loooooooooooooooow 8)

Image

Semaphores fitted after some challenges!

Image

You know your getting close when the plates go on ready for rego!

Image

She looks like new, no part was untouched including all of the lock mechanisms

Image

Engine is now back in after a refresh by VolksMod, it sounds awesome and the 2276 will ensure there is plenty of grunt on hand. The stacks will be polished and we will use small clip on filters from 'Stack Injection' rather than larger bulkier items

Image

Anticipate having her in the shed in 7 days time, the countdown has begun!
