More trial fitting for the long side panel. Unfortunately this panel was around 4-5mm too long and was hitting on the door and over hanging the B pillar. This required a slice cut out to bring it back in line with the B pillar....

While the long side was clamped and screwed in place, I took the opportunity to fit and finish of the B pillar close out...

The next step will be to removed and prepare the long side for final fitment...

Long side is now installed. These pics show the install and the finished and cured panel.

Roughed the metal and then taped up the areas where the panel adhesive will be put on..primed and then painted...

Painted the sections that will be behind the panel and wont be able to be painted down the track...

Caulking and spreading the 3M panel adhesive...

Once the glue was dry I got all of the welding completed... Just need to sand off the excess glue and I will be getting this panel in primer.

Having to shorten that long side is a total pain mate but you aced it. Can’t believe how fast you’re cranking along with this. Keep going.

Nice one

Rusty, what do you actually do Mon-Fri for a crust ?
Are you in the trade or his is this a hobby that you've picked up and self taught ?

Either way, great stuff.

Thanks Linz, really appreciate it mate. Mon-Fri I work in a biosecurity glasshouse growing all chickpeas, beans, peas, lentils etc that get imported into Aus. We test them for the exotic diseases and viruses before they get distributed across the country to get any nasties out.

No qualifications, all the metalwork and welding is self taught

Cheers

The left side was much the same as the right, rear corner rusted out and beat up and full of bog. Vents were bent, twisted and split. Off it comes...

The front section of the left wheel arch was hacked open and was caved in. Photo doesn't show it very well. Was lucky enough to get an original section to repair this... Still needs to be finished off and the lower section repairing but much better
