Had a mate with a T5, new motor at 30ks, 2 yrears old, timing belt went, wtf?
And ive had a dsg gearbox go at 75ks, 18mths old...

Not great advertising for VW, plus their customer service is shit house, had a woman argue with me over taking the car to the closest dealer, but i wanted it taken to tweed heads, have a guess the ks difference, and put in perspective we spent 10 mins back and forth arguing, also not to mention the road to Lismore is a shit road and takes twice as long as the highway to Tweed, and guess what the k difference was? WTF 1k, thats it, 1 km... haha bit of work VW to keep me as a customer... Even the technician said he wonders what will happen when these cars are out of warranty...

Moss Vale Motor Group, the VW dealer in the NSW Southern Highlands is shocking. Heard of one woman who dropped her New Beetle off for a service......9 months ago. I think they've given her a courtesy car for the moment. No sign of her car.

Then there was the saga with the keys for my '98 T4 LWB Transporter. My youngest hid the only ignition key we had and we had to have it towed to them to get new keys. We ordered 2 and were told between 10 and 14 working days for them to get into the country. We found the original ignition key for out T4 so we went and picked it up from Moss Vale VW but told them we wanted the additional 2 keys as well. My wife rang up every 2 weeks for about 2 months.....then a couple of weeks in a row. Everytime she got the "Oh, yes, we'll call and give you the status." No calls, nothing. Finally I rang and got the same response. So a week later on a Friday I called and the guy who answered had never heard of anything. Our car and names weren't even on the fricken' system!! I told him I was fed up and if something didn't happen fast I'd be ringing VW Australia and reporting them. I got a phone call at 9am on the Monday and after almost 3 months he'd found one key on a shelf somewhere at the back of the parts department. I told him he could forget it. I rang Lennock Motors in Canberra who took all my details, rang me under 2 weeks with both keys and did everything quickly and politely.

I'm still weighing up whether or not to write to Volkswagen Australia about the whole thing.
Cheers & God Bless

Don't bother Andy, I've had my issues with vw service department for new cars...
from overfilling oil (by 1.5L) to shocking service. I wrote a letter to vw and got a phone call back but no offer to fix the issues..
VW parts and service are shite in oz, for all the 900 or so cars they are selling a month you'd think they could give something back to the customer!

You have to wonder why they don't care about their reputation more than that.
I realise we're a small market but it's ridiculous.
I will say, however, that our experience with Lennock Motors in Canberra was excellent.
Their service was prompt, polite and professional.
Cheers & God Bless

yeah hearing ya, I've got a couple rides newish between me n the mrs at home and have given away vw and jeep genuine service..
don't get me started on the BS I've experienced
I use a small vw specialist workshop who works on all vw's,
they are competent, pocket friendly and answer the phone when I call and I can talk to the mechanic every time without a problem
they get I'm into vw's n so are they, I'm happy and will continue to use them
hence it was a no brainier where the bus with the sick box got hauled to..
fook vw service BS
