57 - 11 Window - DAS Resto - Jordi

I thought I should start putting some posts up here because the guys at Das Resto have put so much effort into my bus.

It is my second bus. I spent a lot of time getting my first bus cleaned up and stripped for a resto, but the size of the resto got a bit overwhelming. My first bus was an ebay special with pictures showing its best angles, so when Al put his bus up for sale I bought it and sold my old one.

I feel guilty that I have not put any effort into this one myself. At this stage Das Resto are doing body, paint, suspension, windows, seat belts, rear seat, brakes and gearbox. I want to have a go at the interior, motor and electrical.

I'm building the bus to be relativly stock in body (Flat Dove Blue) and interior (Black), but modify brakes, IRS, Beam, R&P and engine. Hopefully I'm off my P's when the bus is finished and I have saved enough to get a turbo motor.

The bus has been back to almost a frame but is starting to look whole again with the nose, rear corners and cargo floor the last major welding jobs.

Thanks Al, Steve & team for th excellent service, communication and workmanship.

Thanks for the pics Jordi..

I saw your bus at Al's last week and it's certainly on its way to becoming very nice again ..

Quick update as work has started again on my bus.

A lot of time was spent on the nose as a combination of Klassic Fab, original and a brazilian nose were joined together. Work has now shifted to finishing of the suspension before welding the floor and some final panel beating before it all ends up in primer.

Thanks again to Al and the team for the great work!

Looks like it will be nice and low.
Look forward to having a look in the flesh at the open day shortly.

Thanks for all of the positive comments. I'm looking forward to seeing my bus again at Al's Open Day. Hopefully she will be back on her wheels with the beam and suspension finished.

Mum was stirring me about not even being able to go over speed bumps, reckons I'll have to walk the last bit to the beach because the bus won't get in.

:D Al and the guys are powering along now. The bus is in primer, floor finished and the custom beam is done.

Hopefully the weather holds out for Sunday.

It's getting exciting as the last few tweaks are finalised before paint. I have about 24 hours to make the final decision between matt or shiny Dove Blue.
