cleaned up the rest of the front panel and drivers door. had a lot of oxidisation and surface rust stain washed off the roof. been using jiff, water and a green scourer. comes off really well, and I then finish of with a quick cut n polish. Im pretty sure im going to stick with this finish and just match paint and blend where any new panels are welded in. have to replace cab floor, beat out the front peak of roof, panel beat drivers door and push out the nose, drivers lower dogleg, patches under drivers door, rub some cream on that nasty spare wheel well hemoroid......... and numerous patches around gutters.

attacking roof at the moment. it has a really nasty stretched oil can dent, just pops back and forth.
going to turn this into a camper with period style interior and was contemplating a sub hatch next to side double doors. Roof is not perfect anyway and would be good to be able to stand up in van. The sub hatch is close to the period I think, but don't know if I would have to strengthen underneath with belly pans. Hatch im thinking say 1300mmx700mm running length ways on passenger side. Whats your thoughts and does anyone have one or got pics.
Cheers

finally got some metal tacked in and trying my hand at welding for the first time. not bloody easy what with thin steel, rust and pitting. a few blow outs but will keep at it.

have started on my new wheels as well. bit premature I know but hey, got to do something while watching the tele. the taping is pretty tedious and trying to get it even is driving me mad. Has anyone sprayed polished wheels lately? I am planning on a bit of a scuff up and some aluminium primer before a few coats of satin enamel. Keen on others experience.

Taped them all and gave them a quick rub.
Then hit them with some aluminium etch primer, then 3 super light coats of satin black enamel.
Im really happy with the way they turned out :D .
thinking of giving them a clear coat over the top to help protect them. What do you think, has anyone done it before on here? has it lasted ok?

Thanks for sharing and love what you have done with the wheels...

Did you decide to clear over the top - I can't give you any advice in that regard, but was interested in the recommendation...

Keep the pics and rest coming!

I have such high respect for people who are good at welding, especially thin metal. It's always been
one of those things that just blows my mind how talented people are! Looking awesome! Keen to see those wheels on there too!
