been chasing these for a long time finally tracked the bloke down and made a deal.
Two of em are pretty beat up but i do have a spare roof for a swap if i decide to go that far.
When i get them home ill be able to assess them better but pretty stoked.
Found some of the doors and other stuff laying around the yard today.
Any info on what years they are would be great one is a sem bus one has bullet indicators and the othe has the round ones haha new to the splitside.......What have i done

Going to be a challenge for sure but hoping my mate can move them around with his loader + tines.
Once i get them out i can assess them a bit better and decide what to do them :D

Nice Jimmy, glad you finally caught up with him. They will have a chassis number on the right side of the engine bay, use that to get year/month info on the samba. Don't sell anything to Chocco i'm calling dibs haha.

I'm pretty sure one of those busses was a 55 the last time I saw them, looking at the way they are parked now though the first one in the pic looks like a different bus to the one I went over years ago

Check the transmission saddles as I'm certain one of them was tubular

Bit confused with working out the yrs of these busses from what I can find through the chassis numbers One is a late 55 it has a round gearbox cradle but no sems and looks like it had bullet indicators. Ones a 57 with sems and ones a 62. What's confusing me is I was under the impression that early busses had semaphores where they optioned out with indicators Or does it sound like a Frankenstein? help would be much appreciated thanks

Maybe the 55 had the semaphore holes welded over ....you might just get lucky and uncover them still in the bus, Ive seen pics where people have simply welded or filled over the semaphores and left them in the bus..
Hope thats the case for you as they are lovely thing to have on an early bus..
