WARNING……….. The following images will offend most viewers.

Finally painted the bloody thing. Took a week off work and spent way too many hours in the shed. Still trying to get used to the colour, it actually looks really nice in person but I can't capture that on my shit camera. Big paint session with a few hiccups but very pleased with the end result. I had a few runs in the top white clear coat but they rubbed out and once buffed will never know.

There was too much orange peel to leave so i wet rubbed with 800, 1200, 1500 and 2000 then buffed the shit out of it for hours. Came up with a super shiny mirror finish which I am stoked with. The panels are not 100% straight but close enough for me. Any way a few pics for your discomfort…… I know how much most of you like a shiny bus!!!

Mmmm Shiny :P .
Looks good, don't worry I'm sure everyone here appreciates the work you have done.
Even if not everyone's cup of tea.
Nice one - I say congrats.

I love the color. If I get a chance to paint another split screen I will go with Magenta so the yellow is a safe color compared.
Very nice.

Well, what a fucked up 12 months... But I managed to keep the kombis and the shed!

I was told not to work on the splitty for the past 12 months but I couldn't help myself.... Its good therapy!

So, All electrical work complete, sound deadener installed (carbuilders.com.au , check em out) Brakes plumbed up, steering all sorted. I have the deluxe 2 tone interior on its way from Bus N Bug with the headliner. Hopefully will be cruising the hills by X mas.

Just a question on the rims. The rims that were on the bus when I got it are 4 X 15's. I assumed these were original so I painted and put rubber on. Only issue is the moon hub caps will not fit because there are no spring clips. There are the 3 lugs which will not hold the capon. Can I simply install the spring clips to these rims ?? Tracking down other rims in Tassie is hard and I cant be bothered painting another set.

Its good t be back!!!

Those rims are early Type 3 rims. Very tidy bus mate, coming along great!
