Ted's 61 DC

I've had this 61 DC for a while now. Apparently its history is well known around Sydney - probably due to the canary yellow paint job it got in the 90's.

My original intention was to remove the canary yellow to reveal the original paint of nimbus white and get it roadworthy (last registered in 2006). Unfortunately there was little or no original paint left due to previous accident repairs (on every panel) so it was time for Plan B.

I'll let the pics tell the story to date...

As you would expect the blasting has revealed a little more rust than the naked eye detected. All in all it's not too bad - just starting to doubt whether my welding skills are good enough :?

Oh yea, just to clarify, the oval tail lights were welded in after an accident, replacing the twin tail lights :x

I've got replacement twin tail light metal ready to go in
