My '67 11 Window Bus. (TAS)

Post by perkypeterson »

Hello there!

This is my 1967 11 Window rustbucket!

After owning several Bay Window's and searching for a Splitscreen in Tasmania for nearly 2 years, finally found one and picked it up a couple weeks ago. It definitely needs LOTS of work, but came with a heap of rust repair panels. My welding/mechanical skills are pretty much zero, but i'm keen to learn! so prepare for some questions! I will upload some pictures as i go, which hopefully keeps the motivation levels high!

So far ive removed the front floor, test mounted the front Inner Valance and welded in the A post blocks.

Can anyone recommend what to spray on the Inner of rust repair panels? (Do i just use Etch Primer, then Fish oil it?)

Few more progress pics! slowly getting there! it's definatly a learning experience but I think I'm slowly learning! sooo much rust! First part I tackled was the inner and outer Cargo doors, then mounted them up to make it look a little more like a bus!

Don't laugh at the first attempt at welding :P haha, I'm getting better, I promise. Took it slow and it didn't warp, was pretty happy with how it came out actually!

Does anyone know if the floor where the engine hatch can be purchased new?
Some muppet has welded some square tube, and what looks to be maybe a bay window hatch there? :?
