Remember to wash it out of your hair or you'll fit right in down the road!

Final Assembly , I made a mount bracket to use a normal gearbox mount, because it had the donut mount cut off in its previous life, made a template of it if anybody wants to go down this path, does require welding to the tube

I used a beetle shifter out of a 70's beetle, I had an early shift lever but nothing else and Bob wanted one, so I modified the beetle one, used a shift rod from a later splitty with the large ball, anyway it worked out great. Also made it adjustable underneath instead of the solid original one.

Paint job went ok, a few runs that I have rubbed out, all in all quite happy with it for a garage respray, now starting to put it all back together, got the wiring done, on to the trim now. Ian

Yeah I hope so, been working on it for 3 to 4 days a week for the last 6 months, the amount of time it has consumed is amazing, I have stopped thinking about when I might finish it, just keep plodding along till there’s nothing left to do, I won’t stop now till it’s done. Ian

Middle seat bracket today, its a cut down LHD Brazilian middle seat, made it into a 2 seater, also spent 2 hours on a door handle that just did not want to fit, the more brand new stuff I buy the worse it is, these are a brand new WW door handle set with brand new WW locks, just goes to show if you can reco your old stuff or get NOS stuff you will be way in front, Ian
