I think I have to get one of these diesel heaters, how much fuel does it use Ian?

Very little, I only made a small tank for the diesel about 2 litres, had it running about 6 hours so far hasn’t run out, I’ll let it run out so I can see how much it uses
I think Warb would have a better idea of how much it would use

usage, easy as, uses three fifths of fuck all...ha.. the pulse pump moves .02ml every time it clicks, and the frequencey of the pump is set at the contriller (Hz) .. so on the controler if you set it to 3.0hz per second, so 3x.02 is .06ml per second, or 3.6ml per minute, or 216ml per hour - however in that cab I reckon youll be running it at 2Hz max?

bit more math, lets say you play $2 per litre for the diesel, that 2l tank should run for just over 9 hours at 3Hz.. for $4...

Well I guess I was a bit cocky on how good the diesel heaters are, on the way back it started to smoke and stopped working, got to Champs workshop and checked a few things out but couldn’t get it to work

Got home and bought a new one $133 on EBay, fitted it today, 2kw version this time, and it’s working a treat
Still think it’s a great idea instead of heater boxes

that fucker is flooded man. blow the shit out of it, check the glowplug is above the fuel inlet.. run it hot and hard, add kero. 50/50... chuck in a new glow plug first too..

The $133 version in the picture with Ian above looks a tad smoky - Cheek & Chong Style.
Perhaps go for the $266 model

The $133 version came with instructions, the first one just had a picture. And I can see what I did wrong with the first one, the new instructions say you need to run it flat out some times to get rid of the junk, I see Warb says to run it flat out as well, I always had it on the lowest setting, and as Warb said I flooded it, I will clean up the first one and get it going again, might make a good shed heater

How did you put the bed on, welded? I see folks are using body adhesive a lot now with panels, in the olden days everything was just welded. Seems you could get a pretty good hold with adhesive on the cross members and mebe just spot around the outside? I have a bed to put on in a couple of months, been loooong time since I've done any panel work and things have changed a bit.

Yep just glued it on, rolled the lip and called it done. And if you ask me what I used just sikaflex, they have a bonding one, got mine from Bunnings
