I did a little test on the shitty rear corner
As I was at the shops I grabbed a can of bam oven cleaner
A quick squirt, left it for about 15 mins and wiped off with a wet cloth
How could u stop at that little spot
I wouldn't be able to sleep knowing that og paint was there waiting to be reviled
Anyway great to see some progress
55 pgsg og paint ticks all the right boxes

Wow if the rest of it is like that you’ll be stoked. Funny that your turquoise bus had multiple shitty resprays and your PGSG has a shitty turquoise respray.

You make it sound like I did it!
Why someone thought it was a good idea to cover the PGSG with that green is beyond me, but hey at least they didn’t strip it

Crazy how good the headliner still is
Shame really to pull it out, but it will have to come out and I doubt it would handle a wash

Cab floor is still there and the mats not bad
The big hole on the passenger side was to access the valve on a gas bottle mounted under the floor

I can’t remember, I don’t think so but as you can see the interior has been messed with
I’ll have a look tomorrow

Dave, now this may sound a little harsh but that bus needs between 10k and 15k spent on it , and around 4 months constant work, you aint going to get it done 1 day a week, SO , and I know I will cop a bit of flack from this but somebody has to say it, you should sell this to either Brad or Colin, and with the money go and buy Brad's mates Oval Beetle, or swap Brad's mate Beetle for it, this way you have a driving vehicle straight away that you can enjoy, No late nights working on it and No extra money involved, Sorry to be so harsh mate but you get 2 days a year off for Volksfest and Day of , wouldn't be the same if you had to stay home and work on the bus. Thanks for the vote of confidence
I am under no illusions as what is needed to sort this bus, I’ve been here before
Yes it’s true I don’t have loads of time free but things do change and I don’t have any plans on falling off the perch anytime soon
Besides I’m not a fan of beetles and if I were to let this bus go then that would be it for me and vw’s, at the moment I’m optimistic and plan to drive this bus at some point.
But cheers for your input. Challenge accepted!

Ok, then get to work, all the bottom first before you look that roof, long side first, order some top hats and inner sill, move around the back, battery tray, fix the engine lid hanger, all that paint shiny stuff can wait, I’ll support all the way, need stuff then I’m sure I will have something, want to use the folder and guillotine come on down, parts keep going up now is the time to get going, want help just call. Thanks Ian
I appreciate the offer
It will be slow to start with as time is still short but I will be doing what I can when I can.
I do have some body bits already but will need more
I agree with your approach and the paint side of things really is the last thing to worry about, you have to start from the bottom up and make it structurally sound.
I have a lot to be getting on with tho like stripping it all out and cutting out the rust while I organise what else I need

The Wiz is clearly losing his marbles. Firstly, Colin needs no more busses. Secondly like you said, you won’t get another one. There’s no rush, having a bus these days is 3/4 of the battle. A day here or there and it will be finished....one day.
