New arrival. Even has the keys
Arrived yesterday. First job to get the layers of paint stripped back and hopefully find the PMG red.

Bam oven cleaner got some off but now need to step up to careful use of paint stripper I think. What’s anyone used to get top coats off and leave the original paint?

so slowly turning red.
So my conundrum is.... it has bus doors do I make it an 11 window by adding teh RHS windows and a rear on the left OR does anyone have any PMG red van doors they want to sell or swap / trade for these doors?
Im in 2 minds, panel vans are kind of cool but an 11 window PMG staff transport would be more useful

- finally remembered which way to hold the phone so the pics are the right way around...

Firstly don’t hack a solid panel. Keep the cargo doors if you want a little light but if you want an 11 buy a different bus.
Secondly....panels are shit  , window busses are much more practical for everything unless you plan on doing commercial activities or sleeping in it. It’s your bus and if you want to hack it hack it. Not sure if you can hack it and keep the OG PMG theme and paint though, if you add windows it would be better to respray IMO.

so slowly getting there, after repairing the window doors I managed to find (thanks DSK) not one but 2 x cargo doors and in pmg red (well red under lots of paint).
Broken arm slowed me down a bit but now getting back into it, I sell panels but I'm a pretty orinary welder so slowly slowly.
Top hats repairs, along with outriggers, new inner sill now in and workimg on the rear section of dogleg.
Hope to have the cargo floor back in over the weekend

Great score on the doors, amazing the things people still have in their stashes.

Just a little something to add that may be of interest I have a type 3 squareback that like your van left the factory white but was then painted PMG red and quite a good job as all over red, i then searched for the color code for the red which i found on a Holden site Mercury Red, may help if you are going in that direction. Cheers
Its nice to be important, but it is more important to be nice.
