Yep the service books show Pellew and Moore (Broekn Hill department store) as the first owner. There is also a Kaczmarek Motors sticker on the engine lid.
I drove over to Vic on the weekend to bring it back on Sat/ Sun and then drove it for the first time on Monday. It drives really well, the 1776 in it feels bigger
Going the pull the stickers of the doors though and go with another theme......
I'll get some update pics up soon. Yes the blue and red on the gates has been painted over and the stickers removed from the doors.
Drove it to work Monday and Tuesday and now the weather's gone to sh#t again......Shane at Cartek has given it a bit of love and sorted out a few issues including a tendency to blow oil coolers - the oil pressure spring the engine builder used was a little too stiff! Also had an alignment so its driving a whole lot better and gears are much easier to find.
Plenty of little jobs to get it where I want it, but I'm loving it and it will become a fair weather daily driver I think
One of the guys at work is pretty artistic and is going to do a bit of sign writing on the doors and maybe gates for me
56 shorty kombi project (future Snail) sold and now a Retro RV
68 Country Buggy KO418 (sold)
67 PMG sold - being converetdd to electric
61 Karmann Ghia (the wifes) - sold
Gordon, the Hurst you supplied is all painted and going on soon I like a bit of frontal protection, feeling a little bit vulnerable at the moment....I also want to weld in an extra seatbelt mounting point so I can have 3 point instead of lap sash belts.
Hopefully Beatts and I can park side by side at Cars and Coffee Unley on Sunday and wow the crowds!!
