G’day All!
So I’m the bloke that bought Brad’s (Braddick) 1957 Splitty.
Originally dove blue, a good friend Joe put me in contact with Brad and my dream of owning and restoring a Splitty has finally come true after over 20 years!
Will put up a bunch of pics and will continue to put more up as I progress…I was thinking of going down the patina/og paint route but the mrs put her foot down and is adamant that ‘we’ want a full restoration with shine…which I am not against it just means I’ll need to work and save a fair bit harder!!!

Cheers all and thanks to Ryan for adding me!

Welcome. It’s a great looking bus. With how good that interior paint looks I think you should uncover the paint on the nose and buff it before locking in a final decision. It has potential to clean up very well and may be less rat than the Mrs thinks. Either way, it’s another bus on the road to recovery, keep the pics coming as you progress.

Welcome too, gee that interior paint work came up nice. Id be tempted to also to see what's under that paint on the outside to discover before it's gone.
Either way congrats and looking forward to build thread....

Cheers Linz

No rush on the outside paint plenty of rust to cut out in the floor and sills and top hats and I beams to keep u busy for a while
But at the end of the day it’s your bus and a project like this will go a whole lot better with the missus on board
Great to have another active member on here
Keep the pics and progress coming
Cheers bud

Looks like you’ve washed off some good top soil there. Put that in a jar for prosperity or grow something in it.

Keep the wife involved in decisions, budget and time lines but maybe not the bookkeeping.

It’s your bus. Good luck.
