And how good is to have those 'as found' pics too.

Keen to see how you progress with it.

I have the same on the 61DC I have but I recon I will switch it to twin taillights because I personally like them. Let the OG and personal preferences start
I'll bring going twins for sure

Spot on Gordon. There’s a VW technical bulletin showing how to update taillights to the “modern” oval taillights.

An update on progress of the DC, pulled a ton of bog out, put half a ton of lead in. Lined everything up. Fitted gates, engine lid and all bolt ons. And yes twin tail lights fitted (well i didn't but Martin Pomeroy did). Getting close to bringing it home for a shed paint job.

Bit of an update, albeit it really doesn't look much different than before. A lot of bog removed and some lead inserted to bring the body back into much better long term condition. Rear lights all done to twin rounds, LHR vent back to the narrower correct version. Cab divider made and installed for fuel tank, rear seat base repaired. New lower floor etc..
Now time for a few underneath bits and paint..

I like your cab divider, was thinking the same thing as that because of the fuel smell, especially when you fill up, Dual Cabs need the cabin sealed up from the tank area

That's looking really tidy, you must be happy with where it's at.

Not many doing lead wiping now either.

Yeah Morts, it nice heading into paint knowing that all the shitty bits have been taken care of, and you won't see rust again for a very long time..(or bog cracking for that matter, as the amount the last panel guy put in it just didn't make any sense, over the top of perfectly good metal)..

Well after a long wait in the shed while other projects needed completing, today I finally towed the DC up to the workshop to get in with it. Got all the suspension back out and started sitting o through all the bits an pieces I've gathered over the last few years in preparation. But if under body work to do, then hit it with the surface rust converter underneath and get some colour on. 👍
