Made a large purchase from the US today to really add something special to my camper build. Not sure Ive seen a bus here in Aus with them before so.......

Ive also bought a stash of vw splitcreen parts from a guy I know as a bulk lot, no repro stuff. Ill be taking what I need and moving the rest of the parts on (with his permission, before someone jumps down my throat!) will offer up stuff here first.

Large in size or large in $$? Do we guess?

Front corner now in high build primer. Short side ready for primer
Bit of rust work on cargo doors and rear engine lid. It’s coming up pretty nice. Decent gaps all round

Just bought my mate a new toy as part payment for his work. It’s gonna be an awesome Resto. It runs and is complete but will be pulled apart detailed and slightly modified

Yeah, 6 was a fat clue!

Restored originals, all 6 with matching tempered glass. I’m super excited about them, will make the build I reckon

So, my bus is not far away from paint now, then onto reassembly. Ive done a lot of car builds over the years but Im particularly excited to get this one back and start using it. Im super happy with how its going top look.

AND THEN A HUUUGE curveball comes along

I come across an OG paint 57 baronia brown bus for sale with super consistent mild patina. Basically a dream scenario.

Requires the usual lower welding but its a pretty small in comparison to other builds

Im so close to the end and its like starting out all over but OG paint is the dream esp in a rare colour

It will cost me way more time and money and it will be so much more effort but I could do a ground up build with new underneath and mechanicals with character on the outside.

Then Im wondering. if I'm being unthankful for what I have???
