Mikki at Indian Automotive last week bought a 6 leg seat off Facebook, looked like Brisbane area, maybe you should give him a call

I did see that seat, it sold near instantly. I was 20 minutes too late. I'll give him a call.

last week I managed to get hold of a decent backrest for the front bench seat. It arrived this morning and went straight into the bus.

Hi mate, Steve K on here has a NOS spindle. I’ve let him know you’re chasing one but maybe shoot him a PM.

I'd be very keen on the spindle. What is his username? I will shoot him a message.

I managed a couple of hours with the bus this afternoon. I had a go at stripping the long-side back to og paint with oven cleaner. It turned out far better than i expected, as i get time, i will continue to go over the whole bus to see how it looks.

How much is on it everywhere else. Hard to tell from the pics.

I have done a bunch of test patches on each panel and almost all of them have rubbed back to the same blue in similar condition.
Time will tell how it will look as i continue stripping it. Worst case, it looks shit and i'm up for a respray haha.

I got out of the house for half an hour tonight, half the drivers door is stripped and looks much the same as the side. No pics unfortunately.

There is no way its not going to look awesome in it original paint and patina, not possible! The only issue is whether you like it or not. Personally my preference is OG paint and patina.
Just got to keep cleaning it up and enjoy it, you’ll never worry about using it like a fresh painted bus
Look’s awesome

cheers guys, I will try keep updates coming.

Had a couple more hours at it tonight. There is still plenty of little areas i can go back over and clean up further but the paint is way better than i thought it would be.
I had been hoping to get the engine lid completely cleaned today but i ran out of oven cleaner.

 You would be fucking crazy to paint that bus.

I can’t believe you found this thing, it’s so awesome. Like Dave’s bus, it looks like the repaint was the best thing to happen to this bus.

Keep going, we’re all hooked.

Yep the OG paint is that go, it's going to look siiiiiiiic with all the patina. My biggest regret with my first build was making it shiny when the OG Dove blue was in bloody good shape. Too late now.
