EMPI's Twin.....

Post by matttyler »

Bought this little gem in Bendigo. It`s an early 61 one owner with all the documented history.

Everything is original including the engine and best of all untouched. Needs the sills replaced but the rest is solid as a rock.

Will pick her up in Jan to bring her back to Adders then the resto begins.

Cheers
Matt

Nice one Matty. That'll come up a treat. Still got the Empi Bus? I've still got your front (behind visor) plates too.

Yep there still out there, I couldn't belive my luck find it in last saturday's paper.

Genuine one owner, ordered through Ontario Volkswagen Canada (hence the towel rail bumpers, flashing brake lights, seal beams and laminated side glass).
They picked it up from the factory and toured europe for a couple of years, then brought it out here in '64.
Put in on blocks in '85, when they bought a new hiace camper.
It's got every piece of correspondance with Volkswagen even the ticket they handed over at the factory, and the original german plates too!

Man I shoulda bought this for myself!! Oh well at least it's in the family!

Cheers, Rhett.

Congrats Matt... well done Rhett... nice work, a non aussie 61, so where are the rear indicators on this one? Is it 1 lense for brakes/turn signal? Don't tell us how much, the tears make my keyboard play up.
