Been waiting on sheet metal profiles to be made, so i can finish the cargo door sill section.
Other than that, i've been POR15 mechanical parts & rims.
Sandblasted the engine / gearbox area and underneath what was left to do.
At the moment, fabricating a luggage tray profile to fill in that bit.

Made up the outriggers out of 1.2mm zinc, came up nice. Will weld them tmrw along with the JackPoints, then that takes care of underneath.

With the last challenge of "RUST", will be the LeftHand rear section of the roof. And hinge carrier also the left hand gutter.
So, i will be spending some time on that section, i will post more pics as soon as i get a chance.

Koool, old skool sign writing, it reads: "Equipment Manufactuers Reconditioning Specialist". Now i know why the cargo floor is so battered>From all heavy machinery....

Thanks...ITs a Cigweld 200 TransMig. I'm using .6 wire. Its a great machine with plenty of grunt.

I finished that damn, hole in the luggage tray, it looks so much easy on the eyes now. I don't know, how i could stand looking at that for as long as i did.

I also finished the Outriggers and JackPoints.

I have started on the roof i mentioned previously.

Looks sweet dude, well done.
Are you going to fab up a new strengthener for the gutter?
What about the roof, fab yourself or auto craft sections?

I know you get what you pay for, (most of the time, sometimes too much).
But, i've really been enjoying Fabricating what i can. Since i don't have a 2.5m wide Panbrake / Roller... etc... i'm limited to what i can and can't do.

So for the wider stuff > 500mm , i go to a sheetmetal business and give them the profile of what i want.

Its really a matter of trial and error. Sometimes i think, i won't be able to make that part, like the B-Post section for e.g. but i made it in the end. So, i guess if you don't have a go and try and make it. Then you' know what you'll have to end up buying.

I look forward to updating some more pics.

it's a good feeling when you can fabricate a section yourself and make it work,and even better when your rollin this bus down the road,it makes all the hours of cursing,welding flash and cut up fingers well worth it in the end.keep the picks coming

are you using one of those 3 in 1 sheetmetal machines to fab up your sections

are you using one of those 3 in 1 sheetmetal machines to fab up your sections

no doveblue.... i'm using a crappy 36" metal folder that i had to weld a piece on the rear, cause of flexing...didn't help...so i pre-heat the seam to fold with an OXY...that helps alot. Those 3 in 1 machines are only good for 0.8mm sheetmetal (mild steel)....i've seen those things in action.

I've been working on the cargo sill here is a update.

And a little update on the roof. (i said a little)

So far only got as far as doing the long side gutter. I only replaced the worse of it....which was still quite alot. I'll weld the rest from underneath. I want to get the bulk of it done, its taking longer than i thought. Its very tedious section. Getting it straight, unbowed etc.... takes alot of patience.
Hope to have the rest done by tmrw...Thanks for your comments.
Makes my build seem worth it, especially when i'm hitting my head against a wall.... wondering how i'm gonna do the next part. I'm just glad, i've almost finally done all the rust work. And look forward to the next Stage "Body & Paint".... But, i'll put my patience cap on a little longer...heh heh...

p.s. here is a pic of the nose.... Unwelded, i'm frightnened that i'll weld it, bump it in, or need it off to make working there easier...

Yeah... too much of it, i'm feeling stuffed lately, i think there might be sumthing in it that keeps me working so long...ha ha....

No work done today....hopefully tmrw... Cleaned house today.
