Your welcome, thanks for the appreciation.
Here are those dimensions for the fold:
the top one is for the long side I used an angle of 45, the middle one is for the rear I used an angle of 60. the bottom one is irrelevant.
If you do end up cutting out the section You can always keep the best part as a sample to give to get made up.

Thanks very much for that Al.
The reason I needed the profile was that if I showed them what I cut out it would be in a couple of buckets. The opposite side is perfect and I already have the roof and gutter long sections. Just wanted to get the inner strengthener section. This profile is exactly what I needed.
Again, much appreciated.
Pete.

I am tons impressed with this build.
I'm going to have to refer to it when I do my 55 as the roof is rusted through on both sides and underneath.
Strangely the gutter isn't.
Weird huh?
Unfortunately it's let water flow into lots of inconvenient places that will need individual metal bits fabricated.
Not exactly difficult, just time consuming.
I suspect it'll be cut and cut and cut and cut........and cut a little more.
THEN started welding back in.
But hey, what have I got to lose.
And yours looks amazing.
Excellent inspiration for me.
Are you going straight axle?

Been crook, have 25% hearing in right ear and is numb + an constant annoying ringing. And other usual symptoms of having a cold.
Just started gearbox today, will be in rear tmrw, will take more pics.
I was thinkin of paintin that instead of the VW badge, just like the U-96 had at one stage of its career...nick62 wrote:Gotta love the swordfish, especially on that grey!
At one point I was thinking of stenciling the snorting bull from U-47 on mine.
Looks awesome!
But, will leave it blank, I think those 'Lauging Swordfish' on the bumper is all it needs.
Thanks for the comments, hope to be on the road before NYE'10

Yes, sandblasted all my chrome, yes all OG parts, (can always be rechromed).Tonz Magonz wrote: Did you blast the chrome to get the similar satin finish..? Good effect .

I was not sure what to do with chrome, I know I didn't want chrome. So I had a few ideas like brassing the chrome parts or painting another matt grey.
But, somehow just thought blasting them might be the best way out.
I even blasted the chrome ring on the speedo & horn, which was not a good idea, they warped a little.

I have a factory now, so will make doing other projects much easier (neighbors).kombi1976 wrote:I am tons impressed with this build.

I will eventually put a straight axle in, for now, I just want an easy on the road cert.
The key is take plenty of time to weld new metals and use the lowest possible settings on MIG, if you have or can get a TIG, I would recommend it.
