I must be Mad

Post by sketty »

Got back from my motorcycle trip and started on the 15 window. Pulled the motor out which I thought was seized and have filled the top of the pistons with a mix of diesel and oil to try and free them up for the last 4 months or so. The flywheel was jammed against the gearbox housing stopping it from turning so the motor seems OK. Got the gearbox and reduction hubs off and all the other bits.We are now half way through making a rotisserie. If only this van could talk. The gearbox was held in by a strap that was tied off through a hole someone had cut in the floor, then there were two chains one either side of the gearbox that were bolted to the chassis. Will put some pictures up later.

Dispite the wooden sills, I don't think she's all that bad. Even with that gearbox chained in I have never felt such a smooth gear change.
I have sure seen worse!!

Cheers
