Sidewinder exhaust install...??

Regarding the stainless exhaust with the muffler to one side (same as the one Hoves has installed)....Is it advisable to use a sealant on the slip jointed pipes to prevent any exhaust leaks or not necessary...??
Couldnt resist buying one from George at the Bacchus Marsh swap meet for the Old Sparks Ratmuller ute...

I would tonz they make a special exhaust putty for that
