On first finding the bus it was going to be a nut and bolt resto - which the wife really liked the idea of....

....but after cleaning it up have decided to get it keep it ratty on the outside / hand polish (which the wife really hates the idea of - but she'll come round!) lower it, but not over the top, 12V, mildly modified motor TBC, and wheels TBC.

It is pearl white over ruby red, (faded to a dusky pink) missing middle and rear seats, clock, driver side rear trim and a few other trim bits.

Some odd bits and pieces in it too but the best bit was a 1984 RAA magazine neatly folded up on the front seat with the McLaren Vale Fire truck on the front cover....

It's as if she has just been waiting there for me to pick her up....

And definitely keeping 'Iron Horse'

On history - PO had it since circa 1984 and I understand that the owner before that was an angoran goat breeder!

Also bus seems very good underneath - needs lower sill behind cargo door and has rust in floor near cargo doors about the size of a shoe box lid. Doglegs, outriggers and jack points all great. Main issues seem to be with guttering at various points and around windscreen as the shed it was in did not have a front gable.

Nose panel also rusting at bottom and has been pushed in at some time. Don't think that it has been in a prang though as front bumper gaps are quite good - maybe it just copped a beating as things were moved around in the shed?

That's what I was thinking, maybe you can recycle them to fill in the shoe box lid rust hole.
Or you could use em at the barbie celebration when you get it on the road.
Congrats on the find, that is another good thing about that nice dry S.A. climate. Besides being good for growing all those red grapes of course.

P.S. How is your progress with the ute going?
