thats great westair, would be a good idea to have a post on here for each state with pics of busses just to see how many in aust all up.
im guessing it would be a big job to set up on the site but a separate post
for each state & the territory with just 1 pic of a split & the owner if pos.
the kombikonnection forum is just what i mean with all the pics of wa splits,
to be honest who knew their was soooo many over there & most on the road as well, then how many would their be thats not on that forum in wa.
click on the state & see how many on that states road or soon to be wow that
would be magic.
thanks again westair a very eye opening post on numbers cheers wally

the first owner of that green splitty was an importer and seller of porsche parts, so he fitted a porsche motor and gearbox into the old bus, he needed really "clean cold" air for the porsche twin carbies, so what he did was panel off the origional high vents outside, then fitted the boat hatch roof vents and re-paneled the interior roof using the origional interior air guides to get the air from the roof down to the motor! queerie solved!
if anyone wants to paste this into the samba thats fine by me! cheers jon
ps i met and chatted with the owner in belmont area-he told me the story
