Thanks for the comps guys. Coming along...slowly. I haven't picked up the doors or bumbers yet, so progress is hindered somewhat.
Put a nasty scratch in the front nose whilst fiddling, didn't realise just how far you can throw a screwdriver when you want to! Matt, should have listened to you mate, should have stopped after the fifth ale.
Still got to have Brad over to fit the new headliner etc, before I can even think of putting in glass etc.
Wally, looks like we have spawned twins!
I'll try and put a few more pics up when I get home.

Fantastic work Matty - its great seeing it progress over time (I know the feeling of a long term resto!). That straight panel on the side was awesome - I guess the panel/paint was certainly worth the wait!

Hi Richie, thanks for the comments.
Progress has been slow due to work and beer and stuff. Had a couple of mates around over the weekend to lend a hand. want to thank TwoTonz (aka THE GADGET MAN), for bringing the dentist drill around to help with the safaris. Have hung the doors, spent 4 hours getting the front bumper to sit nicely (and 9 beers), stuck the speedo and fuel dial back in, floor mats, this and that, and still no closer to understanding why I started in the first place.

Matt needs some pics of the angle of the front body tags which locate /support the ends of the front bumper. He cant ask ....too polite or too pished to spreek.Currently the threaded plates at the ends of the front bumper are approx. 25 mm lower than the holes in the body brackets . Key Ryst.. hope all that crap made sense..if not..Matty ;take a bleedin' pic and put an end to all the indecision..Tonz
Wanted..Barny bits or 60's Supercharger other than Judson

Update.

Post by Micromatt »

Ok. Started a new job, so haven't been focussing too heavily on the bus at the mo. However, have a mate coming over to spend the day, to hang the rest of the doors, safaris, rubbers etc. If anyone is going to be in the area tomorrow, feel free to drop in. We are hoping to have it on the road by the Jamboree.
Cheers,

Matty

PS: Mandy, you have PM (he he!)

Drove him today!

Post by Micromatt »

Ok, not going to make it to the jamboree - have to take Mark's twin instead (not that that is anything to sneeze at). Drove him for the first time since november 2002. The body work is now complete, but just needs a few bits of 'stuff and things' and tinkering to make right.
Cant thanks enough, the talents of Sash at Delux, and our very own 65busser of Bus'n'bug interiors for their time, effort and expertise, not to mention motivation to get this project near completion. Should come back home again next Monday for trinkets. Looking forward to the SPLIT TOGETHER.
Thanks, Matt
