South island to North

Post by okrasa power »

Well what a great trip me and my dad just had, we pick up the bus
in Ashburton (south island of NZ) and drove to Auckland in three amazing days. The country side of NZ is just so cool, great people along the way, real car people taking pics at service stations to put on the wall with all the other cool cars that have stopped for fuel in the past, offering friends details in towns we may visit to have a coffee with and guide us to good places to stay. Went to a local show in Auckland, really layed back and some great cars to see, wow what about the og paint RHD westy that was very very nice. anyway people get over there and do that trip you will never forget it, thats for sure. Big thanks to Colin and simon for there help. :D

We have just moved back to Ashburton from OZ with our splitty. Was the bus a locally owned one, or did you have it restored here?

Oi Dean,
You guys moved Quick.
One day you're here and then the next thing you know you the fam and the split are in NZ.
Small word though, I did a wedding in Caloundra recently and the brides rello's just bought your old house and had moved from NSW.

Anyway, good on ya for taking one back to NZ.
Sorry for sidetracking this post too..

So the bus has been in Ashvagas for the last twenty five years/ Do you know the name of the mechanic who serviced it?

Frogsta, moved back to home town for family reasons, plus it was lacking in splittys, now it has two,my brother has a single cab ute. Certainly attracts some attention. Really miss Caloundra such a great spot for cruising, and the weather.

Hi Mikki, sorry, I totally missed this thread.
Glad you enjoyed your stay it's a pity the weather didn't hold out.

Catch up in a few weeks and do a north to south trip this time.

Keep tabs on that Porsche, man. She's a beauty.

Colin.
