55 Kombi Big Trip

Post by dmb »

So, after months of frustration, finally finished the undercarriage of the Kombi, Indian IRS, CSP discs up front, etc etc, fitted the Pobjoy 1600, drove the wheels off it to run it in, a week later fitted the towbar on the Saturday, hooked up the trailer on the Sunday, and we're off.
Via Sydney for some last minute repairs and parts shopping (thx Tony, Glen, Andrew and George) then off to Blue Mountains, what a hell trip it was up the mountains, looked longingly at the VW dealership at Orange thinking of a trade in, but once over the Range things got better.

Squat, place chin on chest, tuck head and tip forward, shoulders connect with ground and back follows through, legs go over the top and feet land on the ground. That's how I roll!

Really enjoyed Silverton, a lot of history there, plus plenty of car stuff :)
