Narooma in the summer

Post by crewcabconnection »

Just spent time down at Island View Narooma (home of the Split Together).

Strange to see the place packed out, was dead set dangerous on the roadways with 4 foot hoons on scooters and bikes.

Due to the stupid amount of gear that is now needed for a long stay with 3 kids, the panel was in use. Loaded with a good 400 kilos of gear, it cruised easily down and back, keeping pace with the traffic. Gotta love IRS.

The worlds most elaborate kettle was ideal (though had to put up a sign to tell people to go away, coffee for Split Owners Only (me), and when un packed the cargo area made for a great cinema with the kids happy to watch movies using the LCD projector...made an idea place to hide from kids too.

Have to say, this park is really well run and theres heaps for the kids to do, with a great beach and lagoon. Hard to go past Narooma and surrounds for a great time. Pity the water is so cold ... Did a bit of driving about to locate good fish and chips/pie establishments for June!

Dare say it will be far less busy in June.

Looks like you are doing a good rehearsal for the "Mahal" mk3.
I booked and paid my deposit the other day. I am bringing lots of thick socks and me gum boots this year.
Blundstones are good but not waterproof enough for the conditions.

yep, got sick of joining tarps, so this is a 56 square metre sucker.

Have discovered that one thing better than going for a drive is going for a camp out with a bus.

Awesome. LOVE the coffee machine... buddy ;)

I just can't wait for the Split Together.

Less busy (in June) means a shorter queue for coffee too :)

Now that is seriously COOL camping setup!
How's the tarp on the paint in WIND?

my wife has room service - me. (woof woof, wink wink).

Tarp is fine, it's all about aerodynamics, poles and rope. If all else fails, anchor to yer bus.
