Hahndorf to Cummins 650kms

Post by jamesminhard »

Some will be aware that the DD panel has gone but to fill the space in the shed is 55 single cab, beatifully rust repaired and colour matched by pmg bus. Also completely over hauled.
Last thursday it was time to drive the young fella back, iv posted just a couple pics of the trip, il take a couple of it now its home.
As far as the trip went, it was "relatively" "trouble free" we busted a fan belt but limped a few kms to Lower Light and replaced it, then about 25 kms from home the gear shift coupling slipped off. but i managed to select 3rd to limp home. 650 kms in aprox 9 hours. The trip was enjoyed by both Spider and Red dog. Along the way we recived plenty of waves and were over taken a number of times with people pulling up a few kms ahead to take photos.
Huge thanks to Andrew for making it happen

Very nice James.

I 'stumbled' across a white post 64 bus in a transport yard about two weeks ago and was told it was heading up your way - anything you want to share?
No matter what happens they can't take you out in the street and shoot you......

spindles

Post by jamesminhard »

the beam and spindles were done by mike kirsten at custom bugs and busses in Penrith about 5 years ago. I supplied 2 sets of bal joint spindles, one 68 and one about 73. from memory they cost $770 i think they have increased in price. they are however probly the best way to go. a very good ride and it stops good with discs
