Rudolf the sc splitty
Been on the hunt for a sc for awhile. This one came up at a price i couldn’t refuse. Needs the usual rust repair plus more. HaHa.
Centre chassis is total smashed out. The gear box cradle is pretty much bunged flat so i can only assume she’s done her fair bit of hauling.
Got it pretty much complete. Only need to track down a couple of odd parts.
Steel all ordered except for treasure chest tray and bed tray.
Got her home last weekend. dropped out running gear and pulled out wires/switches and last door off.
Gave most parts a water blast only to find out the white didn’t come off as i thought, as it was og red, then red again, then white, then red.
Still flat chat with work so no action for at least 4 weeks at this stage.

Seems a halfway decent base from the photos, just a couple dozen layers of paint to work through.

HaHa Linz it will never be close to a early 55 but good to be back getting dirty
ohh Bruce! i think Tim found it. Joshy had it for a while. It went on to his mate. over those 7 years its gotten a hell of a lot more crusty.
so close to the hway i could almost see it when passing. Mullem!!

Re: Rudolf the sc splitty
my first 2 days off in a row last weekend 30 days strait of minimum 10h days of actual work.
I wasnt happy with the last persons attempt so cut it out and started again.
started cutting out the other side
hope to have this side finished off over the weekend and start on the lower front inner and outer lower and then onto the centre next weekend.
just sacked myself so should have a fair bit of spare time until i find a new job.

Re: Rudolf the sc splitty
took the day off to finish off paperwork. got a wee side tracked when i went down to cover the ute up.
finished off the rear and turned her around and started the front. did a few patches on the lower inner and got the outer ready to weld in.
then thought id clean up the side. next thing the front and rear top hat sections, outriggers and inner sill where welded in.
need to grind it all back but looks like it will be on the back burner for a few weeks while i swap my vans over and find a new job/house.
