Re: 60 11 window
Just tidied up a few small things before I have Wiz here to help next week.
Rear hatch dings sorted Tweaked this cargo door curve which was too sharp And then started working on engine lid gaps. Gap to the valance on the right is still a little big but maybe adjustable by lifting the valance. And here’s a weird fact, I’m all my years of looking at busses I never realised the engine lid lock was off centre, I was marking out the holes for the number plate bracket and realised it sits to the left almost 20mm from centre! Can’t believe I’d never picked that up.

Go back to the beginning, it was on the bus for 30 years. I’m running it.

Re: 60 11 window
Had an awesome day in the garage today. Had the Wiz here to help out and it made a massive difference, the bloke just knows how to use a hammer! Wiz worked away at the short side and managed to get it 95% done. Still some work to do at the lip of the arch but otherwise dialed and 100 times better than it was.
While Wiz was busy on the short side I continued on the long list of little stuff that needed to be done.
Hole on the roof all welded up. Engine lid holes welded up, new ones for the Buttys bits number plate bracket and frame dent pulled.
Square nuts welded into the engine bay for the balance to screw to Tomorrow I’ll set wiz onto the long side, probably a two man job in places but I’ll just try and stay out of his way.

Kicking goals Matt. You’re probably wondering why you didn’t do this ten years ago.
Are you in front of where you thought you’d progress would be with your month to smash things out?

Nah mate, didn’t do it 10 years ago because I just had more important shit to do.
It’s been a very successful few weeks so far, having Wiz on site has been massive and he is absolutely killing it. The goal was to have all the metal work (hammer, dolly and shrinking disc) finished in this month because that’s the stuff that makes noise. The way things have been going I think we will definitely have that all done, if I can get it rolled over and underneath all stripped and in epoxy/colour that would be a massive win.
While Wiz worked the top half of the long panel I jumped around finishing off little jobs.
Rear balance straightened out
Trans cradle straightened out Drivers door top needed 3 captive “nuts” replaced, salvaged from a crusty frame I had

Buttys bits mid mount plates welded in
And this is the progress Wiz made. This panel was wobbly as hell but after the day on it today he got the top 1/2 almost done!

Yeah I’ve been very lucky to have Wiz around. Great for motivation but also just the experience. The short side really bummed me out when I had a go but he’s all over it.

Re: 60 11 window
Wiz was back on the long side today, hopefully that will be all wrapped up tomorrow, it’s getting very close.
I plugged away on a few small jobs and then started on dressing welds under the bus aiming for some epoxy under there next week.
Door top corner re-visited. Fixed the seal Chanel in the corner and then welded on the two cover plates
Welded up a pair of splash pans Made up a mounting bracket for the VH40 booster. Needed this ready do I can lock in mounting location before paint.
