ive had a good look @ this & by all accounts it says it should be a 1963 model :?: :?

the engine number reads: F 1098907... how the hell do you read these charts :?: unsure if thats the original engine or a later one :?

Matt, I'd bet my left Knacker that it was built in 1964. The dates on the Samba mean nothing to Australian built Kombis.
Check the date on the back of the fuel gauge and the date markings on the glass.

i had a look at the fuel gauge, couldnt see anything. may have to take it out :?
the only logo on the rear window is about the safety glass (no dot). well i couldnt see one anyway. have another look tonight.
as for your nuts... im guessing you must have lost your right one with another bet years ago :shock:

I'm sure there is dates stamped on the bottom or sides of the front doors on Aussie Kombis as well. Is that right John?
